DHH Students Can Experience Music, TOO!

Providing tools and strategies to include the deaf and hard-of-hearing community in the wonderful journey of music-making

As a music educator who is also deaf and hard-of-hearing, I have faced numerous obstacles in my own life as a student musician and as an adult teacher. Through connection with other DHH musicians and performers, I aim to educate and advocate for individuals like myself so that they may too be sucessful in their journey.

Since graduating with my Master's Degree in Music Education from Texas State University in May 2021, I have sought opportunities to connect with other members of the DHH community involved with music and the marching arts to hear of their experiences. This also includes presenting my research and findings at state and international music conferences.

School districts, universities, and interested individuals may request professional development presentations for their staff on how to better connect with DHH students in their music classrooms, and consultation visits to observe classroom settings and the commitments to reach the needs of DHH students.
